How Yueliang calculates and presents calendar content

This page separates deterministic calendar output from cultural interpretation so readers can see what is calculated, what is curated, and what should not be treated as professional advice.

Lunar calendar conversion

Gregorian-to-lunar and lunar-to-Gregorian dates are calculated locally from a calendrical library. Monthly pages are generated from each Gregorian day, including the lunar month, lunar day, leap-month status, and festival matches.

Festivals and prayer dates

Festival definitions are maintained in a curated catalog. Lunar observances are converted from their lunar month and day. Solar-term observances, such as Qing Ming and the Winter Solstice, use their Gregorian solar-term calculation.

Traditional almanac activities

Auspicious and avoid labels reflect traditional Tong Shu activity categories. They are cultural references, not guarantees. Practical constraints, safety, local rules, and qualified professional advice always take priority.

Zodiac and horoscope pages

Yearly zodiac pages combine the year's animal, yin or yang quality, Five Element, and each animal's fixed element. They are generalized cultural interpretations. A full BaZi or Zi Wei Dou Shu chart requires birth date and time and can differ from a zodiac-only page.

Safety standard

No calendar or astrology page should direct medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Medical care must never be delayed for a date preference. Report language that crosses this line to [email protected].

Independent references

These official references are useful for checking calendar conversion and the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches framework.
